The Bala Family, including Adam, Julie and their son Robert, established Bala's Harley-Davidson in 1972. The original operation was located on a side street in Mauston, Wisconsin. Harley-Davidson® motorcycles were sold and serviced out of a small shop heated by a wood stove. Bala's began with a small allocation of motorcycles but began to grow quickly. In 1995, Robert Bala bought the business from his family and moved the dealership to its current location north of Mauston. Shortly after the move Paulette began helping Bob with his expanding workload. This required Paulette to quit grooming dogs, a job she truly misses.

The dealership continued to grow in both size and bike allocation. Bala's Harley-Davidson opened a second location in Wisconsin Dells just a few years later. In 2001, Bala's began selling Buell® motorcycles and apparel. In 2003, Bala's Harley-Davidson, Inc. went under another expansion that nearly tripled their current size.

Today, Bala's Harley-Davidson is a full scale, full service dealership that continues to operate under the same old fashioned values that we began with, and that have kept us in business for 37 years; honesty, integrity, value and service and Bob and Paulette are still 100% involved in the day to day operation of the business.
